As for the website, I like that you want to change it so it's less marketing driven and more Jesusonian. As to what those changes should be, I'm not sure yet, but I will certainly give it some thought and get back to you with any ideas I come up with. One thought or theme pops into my head right away. "We're not sure where this journey will take us, but we do know we'd like you there with us as we walk the road." Something like that.

Cliff,

How does one commit to avoid popularism, to being relational rather than functional, to being descriptive rather than prescriptive, is extremely important in my mind. We need to be concerned that our web presence does not occur at the detriment of simply living the life in everyday ordinariness.

Would love to start a group to talk and get some creative minds thinking about the subject. I totally agree with you.

A wonderful response follows from a friend of mine who sent me this when I was looking for credible responses to anti-gay prejudice:

"There's a few comments about homosexuality in the Old Testament, the old laws, which God told us were no longer necessary to follow once Jesus gave us the new example to live by (Galatians 3:19-24, Colossians 2:11-17, Acts 9:13-15).

And Paul mentioned some personal prejudice against gays.

But Jesus himself said absolutely nothing.... and last time I checked, it was following the word of Christ that makes one a Christian, not following the discredited babblings of others."

Patrick:
Hi how are you? I am sorry for posting this here as I did not find a contact section.
Many on the Freetalk forums are asking about you and they miss you. I tried calling the number that I have for you but it has been either disconnected or changed.

I started shema almost 3 years ago... and have yet to receive a paycheck... I basically live off the old system where the money that comes in goes to help people...and benefit by geting free rent and free food from donors and stuff-- I believe in what your saying and have personally witnessed God to crazy stuff in my life.

I have seen God provide so many crazy things for me and people doing his work-- My lifestyle and ability to travel and work all come from Gods providing--not a salary.

When I gave it all up and just helped others who needed it more-- crazy stuff started happening....check out www.stopconsuming.org for more stuf about how we form churches today---peace bro.

ps- we should grab lunch sometime. I'm in Arlington Heights.
